We the Lost app

Player Name: Reiko
Preferred Pronouns?: she/her
Player Contact: [plurk.com profile] reikofanel, [personal profile] reikofanel
Other characters in play? None

Character Name: Albert Heinrich, "004"
Canon: Cyborg 009 (2001) (AU)
Game Transplant: Vatheon
Original App: here
Game Summary: Vatheon was a panfandom jamjar where characters were pulled from their own worlds into a city in a bubble under the ocean. “Curses” were enacted on them, running the gamut of the usual jamjar fare (all manner of swap (canon, age, gender, body, memory, etc), monster attacks, an rpg curse, etc) to elicit emotional reactions that were changed to energy via tattoos on the bodies of those pulled there in order to power the technology of the bubble. Mostly the game was slice of life with a light-hearted execution of a metaplot that had horrific fringe logic.

How long was your character in Game: roughly 2 months

History of Character in their Game: When Albert was pulled, it was from a point of recent major character development. He’s a little more accepting of himself as Human despite being a cyborg due to in canon events (see his Vatheon app) so when he appeared in Vatheon, waterlogged and damaged from his battle, he was less reticent to accept help from those around him than he normally would be. Unfortunately, what he didn’t know is that Jet Link – his teammate and partner in a romantic sense (again, see his Vatheon app) – had been drawn from a point later in their canon timeline and was at the point of death before he was saved by being drawn into the bubble. Unknowing, Albert began to look for a way to get himself and his teammates (Jet, and Pyunma who was also in the bubble at the time) home.

Over his stay in Vatheon, Albert learned of Jet’s fate and vowed to change it, looking even harder for a way out of the bubble just for himself and to his own place in the timeline while still retaining memory of events in his future so he could prevent them and save Jet’s life. He found hope in the form of the scientist Walter Bishop (Fringe), a specialist in time travel and dimension hopping, and even got Jet to agree to a very invasive procedure to record both of their memories digitally via the coaxial ports at the backs of their necks and ensure the success of the endeavor.

Unfortunately, Walter vanished before they could even begin to enact their plan and Albert despaired, throwing a table through a plate-glass door and losing all hope for a short time. Jet’s appearance on the scene however prompted him to continue to look for a way back and stop this unacceptable future from happening. In the meantime, however, he settled down at least a little bit, focusing more on his personal relationship and working through some of his intimacy issues. Quite forcibly, in fact, when he was body-swapped with Dirk Strider.

Soon after I dropped the game due to offline concerns.

How did they change from their canon personality wise (Please explain what caused it to happen?) He didn’t change too much, but for the first part of his stay in the bubble, Albert became singularly focused on figuring out the bubble and finding a way back to his own world in order to save Jet to the point of disregarding all else. This came to a head when Walter vanished, leaving Albert proverbially up a creek without a paddle. Without an outlet for that drive for some time, Albert actually relaxed somewhat and was able to be a little more open than before, especially with Jet and, surprisingly, with Dirk who he’d accepted help from before concerning his cybernetics, something before the game he’d never allowed anyone but Gilmore to work on.

Vatheon had the effect on Albert of rekindling a potential to trust that he’d lost before. It may have been out of necessity in the bubble, but Dirk and Walter went out of their ways to assist him and so started Albert into believing that maybe not everyone in the world would look down on him and his surrogate family for being cyborgs. Moreover, Albert was able to be a little more open with his feelings towards Jet, something that due to their time period is still a concern in terms of how other will view them being in a homosexual relationship. He didn’t make a lot of progress on this front, but he’s definitely started down that road thanks to Vatheon’s environment.

How did they change from their canon physically (Please explain what caused it to happen?): Whenever anyone is brought into Vatheon they receive a tattoo of a square with the corners curled ornately into little swirls. It appears somewhere different on every character and Albert’s was placed at the back of his neck, surrounding the coaxial ports just under his hair.

Powers: Lifted from his app with small updates:
Albert is a one man arsenal. He has a machine gun in his right arm with the fingers as barrels, a combat knife he can flip out and retract at will in his left hand, mini rockets in each knee, and his upper body from shoulders to waist is metal plated, as well as his knees downward. He’s got a brilliant tactical mind, able to sort out opponents next moves or theorize on what will happen next in a given scenario. Because of his predominantly mechanical body, he is resistant to most toxins, poisons, and disease and on certain areas of his body – namely the ones housing weaponry – he can feel pressure but no pain. Lastly, his brain has been enhanced with a translator that can process any language so he can understand it. (I would say just Earth language, but they encounter aliens and can communicate just fine so it could be more akin to the Star Trek universal translator.)

Possessions: His uniform from canon and a small amount of ammunition for his gun arm and his missile knees (if allowed), a few other sets of casual clothing, including a paperboy cap, and a small set of tolls to do maintenance on himself (nothing more complicated than a screwdriver).

Please provide three samples from your previous game, at least one will have to be third person with context:
Sample One: Wherein Albert meets Walter Bishop
Sample Two: Wherein Albert flips a table
Sample Three: Wherein Albert and Dirk have swapped bodies

Notes: Albert has memories of Kurloz Makara as there was a version in Vatheon, but knows very little about him. I’ve already discussed this with the Initiate player as something that may come up. Also, the Jet-mun and I’d like for Albert and Jet to live together.
